The Alaska Perinatal ECHO is a virtual learning network intended for medical providers caring for pregnant patients and their newborns. This series provides up to date information and support for Alaskan healthcare stakeholders.

Session Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Understand the 2019 Joint Commission on Infant Hearing recommendations pertaining to screening, diagnosis and early intervention
  • Understand how Alaska is meeting the early hearing detection and intervention 1, 3, 6 goals
  • Identify at least three challenges to receiving timely audiology assessments after their abnormal newborn hearing screening results
  • Describe the current scope of Alaska’s system of care for infants and/or infants and children under 2 who are at risk of hearing loss in Alaska
  • Describe impacts of COVID-19 on newborn hearing screening referral and diagnosis
