AKPQC Substance Affected Pregnancies Initiative 

The Alaska Perinatal Quality Collaborative's (AKPQC) Substance Affected Pregnancies Initiative engages hospital teams in collaborative quality improvement following the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Breakthrough Series model. Through this the initiative, the AKPQC aims to advance universal screening for substances using a validated tool, increase access to medication assisted treatment for pregnant and postpartum people with opioid use disorder, and improve postpartum care coordination and referrals to community-based wraparound supports for families impacted by substances. 

This regularly scheduled series is only for those facilities officially enrolled in the Substance Affected Pregnancies Initiative.
